  • "In addition, no discussion about Women’s rights can exclude the need for protecting a women’s right to control their own body. By promoting and codifying the idea of "Body Liberty," control over one’s body that does not infringe on another’s rights and freedoms, we can push back on those who would seek to control what women do with their bodies." This wealth gap has been further widened by lowering taxes on investments through the Long-Term Capital Gains (LTCG) tax, that rewards those who watch their money rather than those who earn it, and by implementing the 401(k)-tax code, that greatly benefits high-earners and drastically hurts those who aren’t." Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
Return top tax brackets to pre-Reagan limits. Implement my American Profit Sharing Plan (AFPS), a universal basic income plan, to put more dollars in all Americans hands in order to support additional entitlement funding
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
Dark money needs to be taken out of our politics. The illegitimate SCOTUS was wrong in Citizens United.
No Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
No one is above the law. However, there need to be some restrictions to avoid frivolous lawsuits.
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
I believe in streamlining the military. Eliminate outdated weaponry, focus on the weapons for the next generation, and increase military pay. All these things can be achieved while still reducing the overall budget.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
I don't think it's fair to group 1 person small businesses with multi-national corporations in this scenario. Economic growth is increased best by putting money into the consumer's hands. Reducing corporate taxes has not proven to increase GDP and has actually proven the opposite. Corporate tax rates have been dropping since 1950. So has GDP. I support strengthening small businesses as a means to offset corporate dominance and reach underserved areas.
Yes Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
There should be consistency across the country. In addition, this supports the Federal government's role of protecting all American's rights, no matter what state they are in.
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
The right to bear arms is enshrined in our Constitution, and I will defend it as long as it's part of our Constitution. You can't pick the pieces you protect. However, I'm afraid I have to disagree with many of the recent decisions regarding this right by our illegitimate SCOTUS. It is not an individual right and there need to be common-sense restrictions
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Yes Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
Again with the caveat that small businesses should not lump in with large corporations. Corporations should provide this. The government can subsidize small businesses.
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
A wall is useless. We used to have a "soft" border that allowed immigrants to work then go home. Republican sscrewed that up by making it a hard border, so now immigrants are FORCED to stay for fear of not being able to re-enter. We are a nation of immigrants. Let them come here, prove why they should be allowed to stay, then judged on those ponts.
Yes Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
History shows that our intervention in foreign conflicts that do not directly involve us only escalates the situation and leads to negative repercussions that drastically outweigh the benefits, like terrorism.
No Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
I believe tariffs are acceptable if done for the proper purpose. Placing tariffs on imports from countries that manipulate their currency and create artificial trading advantages at the expense of American jobs is an excellent example of where tariffs are helpful.
My top priorities are passing Voting Rights legislation, resolving racial inequality, and strengthening a small businesses. We need to make sure all eligible Americans vote. We resolve racial inequality by implementing policies that benefit all lower-income Americans, which will disproportionately help minimize the wealth gap. By adjusting or eliminating some of the taxes and legislation over the last 40 years, we can reduce the advantages that corporations have been given over small businesses. A stronger small business community counters corporate leverage and helps rural communities.
